Biography

Augustus Cileone was born in Philadelphia and attended public schools there.  He received undergraduate and graduate degrees in English from Temple University. He later studied at Saint Joseph’s University and acquired teaching certificates in elementary and secondary education.  He has won literary prizes in playwriting and fiction competitions.  He retired after working for the Department of Veterans Affairs, but has continued to work part-time for the United States Government. 

A Lesson in Murder is Mr. Cileone’s first novel.  He has completed a second novel about growing up as an Italian American Catholic in South Philadelphia during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.  He is currently working on another murder mystery.  Gus Cileone makes his home in Montgomery County, just outside of Philadelphia.
